Surfing as Therapy for Children with Autism

Today from TEAM SURF PERU we want to tell a story of resilience and hope: the story of how Izzy Paskowitz, who had achieved success in his career as a professional international surf, I saw her life changed completely to learn that his son had him autism diagnosed. Just one day she stopped talking and shut himself in his world, which destroys any family.

But Izzy had the idea that his son could do with surfing, it would be a good way to develop as a person and spend some good time with family and contact with nature. Having regard to the success of the idea with his own son, Izzy created the Surfers Healing Foundation, in order to provide an unforgettable experience for autistic children and their families. And it turned out to be a wonderful idea to help other families in the same situation.

The idea is simple: use surfboards as a tool for autistic children convey water power and awaken your emotions. Volunteer surf tandem surfing style monitors and the results are spectacular, both for children and their parents. This is just another example of the benefits of surfing for people, an exciting sport where you feel contact with the forces of nature to help you unwind from your everyday problems. We hope that initiatives like Izzy multiply and surfing serve to build together a better world.
